After closing inscriptions last Monday, Marabana 2019 will have 1.200 foreign participants. Next November 10, Havana will celebrate its marathon coinciding with the day of the Physical Culture and Sports in Cuba.
Countdown to Marabana 2019. With the inscriptions closed, the race will take place next Sunday, November 10 and will have 1.185 foreign runners, from more than 62 different nationalities. A historical number that represents an increase of foreign runners compared to the last edition of 20%. Very good news that confirms the internationalization of a race, that year after year, receives the interest of more participants from all over the world.
Among all of them, we find runners of countries as different as Australia, Canada, China, Kyrgyzstan, Japan, Germany, United States, Ecuador, Nigeria, Norway, Thailand, Denmark, India or South Korea. Like this up to arrive to the more than 60 countries that will be represented in Marabana, among them, a group of 40 Spanish.
Besides the marathon, there will also be a half marathon and a 10k and 5k race.
Havana prepares to live a day that will attract the media attention of the whole island. Cuba will live its great sports party that this year coincides with the week of festivities on the occasion of the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Foundation Villa San Cristobal of Havana.
