The 38th edition of the Caribbean marathon par excellence, which has up to four distances, suitable for all types of runners, will be held next 17th of November.

This year, a major event in Cuban sport, the Marabana – Havana Marathon celebrates the 505th anniversary of the city of Havana, and is included in the program of cultural and sporting events to celebrate this anniversary that will take place in the city from 2nd to 17th of November under the slogan Havana lives in me. The race, which will take place next 17th of November and reaches its 38th edition, is the ideal international marathon to run in the last quarter of 2024, also thanks to have four distances: 42K, 21K, 10K and 5K.

Certified AIMS (World Association of Marathons and Long Distance Races), the Havana Marathon course, which starts and finishes in front of the monumental Capitol, is the only Cuban circuit officially certified as an international race registered with the AIMS. This certification allows participants to establish official marks, which is why the Cuban marathon stands out for its high number of runners from other countries, which in 2019 exceeded 60 nationalities. In addition, for this new edition, Adidas will once again dress the Marabana participants, as it did in 2019.

The race runs through the most iconic places in the Cuban capital, those that captivate its visitors. The marathon runs two laps of a route starting and finishing at the Centro Deportivo Polivalente Ramón Font, the half-marathon runs a single lap, and the 10K and 5K share the start and finish line with the other two distances. The complete lap runs along the following streets and avenues: Paseo del Prado, Refugio, Zulueta, Av. De las Misiones, Malecón, Calzada, Calle 12, Calle 23, Av. 26, Boyeros, Santa Catalina, Primelles, Vía Blanca, Boyeros, Salvador Allende, Reina and Paseo del Prado.

But what really attracts the participants are the up to 8 kilometres of circuit along the sea, in the cinematographic Malecón, in the long distances and the possibility to enjoy it in a reduced format in the short distances. The sound of the waves and the ambient music of the Cuban people are the perfect travelling companions for treasuring memories that will remain in the minds of the participants for life. Because the Malecón sums up all the history and daily life of Havana, the best expression of the life of those who live in and fill the Cuban capital with colour.
