Next November 10, 2019 Havana will return to celebrate its marathon
It coincides with the celebration of the fifth centenary of the Fundación de la Villa de San Cristóbal of Havana and its proclamation by the UNESCO as Heritage of the Humanity
The registrations for the edition 2019 of the Marathon of Havana, to be disputed next 10th of November, are already opened from 7am. The initial rate is 70€. This price will be increased on May 1st.
With start and arrival in the Paseo del Prado, between Teniente Rey and San José (opposite to the Capitol), there will be three distances (marathon, half marathon and 10k). The 33rd edition offers the attraction of coinciding with the celebration of the fifth centenary of the Foundation of the Villa of San Cristóbal of Havana and its proclamation by the UNESCO as Heritage of the Humanity.
The edition 2018 had 6.000 athletes, 1.496 of them were foreigners from 53 different counties. The attractions that the Caribbean island offers make that every year the number of foreign participants increases in an event that coincides with the day of the Physical Culture and Sport.
It is necessary to bear in mind that in the Congress of the World Association of Marathons and long-distance Races (AIMS) celebrated in Tallinn (Estonia) last month of September, the Cuban race was ratified in the World calendar for the next year.
